Key Responsibilities:

Governance Strategy Development:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of the companys governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) framework.

  • Collaborate with the COO and senior leadership team to align governance practices with business goals and international expansion strategies.

  • Oversee governance across all departments, ensuring best practices are followed as we scale in both domestic and international markets.

Policy Creation & Implementation:

  • Develop and implement company-wide policies, ensuring they are compliant with local and international regulations.

  • Work closely with department heads to integrate governance policies into day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence and accountability.

  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of current policies and processes, recommending and implementing improvements.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify key risks and create mitigation strategies to address compliance and regulatory challenges in new markets.

  • Monitor regulatory changes in all relevant jurisdictions, ensuring that the company remains compliant as it grows.

  • Develop internal audit processes and ensure timely execution to evaluate adherence to governance policies and mitigate potential risks.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a small but effective team responsible for governance, process improvement, and policy implementation.

  • Provide coaching and support to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure governance frameworks are understood and followed company-wide.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the point of contact for external regulatory bodies, advisors, and legal counsel to ensure the companys governance framework meets all legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Represent the governance team in meetings with the executive team and the board of directors, providing updates on governance, risk, and compliance matters.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and manage a reporting framework that tracks governance and compliance across the organization.

  • Provide regular reports to the executive team and board on governance initiatives, risk exposure, and compliance status.

  • Maintain records of all governance activities, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.

Key Requirements

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) roles.

  • Proven track record of establishing governance frameworks in high-growth tech or multinational organizations.

  • Experience with risk management and regulatory compliance in global or multi-market operations.

  • Strong background in process improvement and policy development, particularly in scaling companies.


Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management strategies, and compliance best practices.

  • Experience in regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions (experience with markets in the Middle East, Europe, or Asia is a plus).

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop actionable solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex governance requirements clearly across all levels of the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Governance, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications in governance, risk management, or compliance (e.g., CCEP, CGEIT, CRMA, etc.) are preferred.

  • Experience working in technology, SaaS, or digital industries is a significant advantage.
