Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced senior network engineer with a strong focus on network security to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining our on-premises and cloud-based network infrastructure, including VCN, VPC, and firewall management, to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support and enhance our network and security services across all environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and implement secure network solutions, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VCN (Virtual Cloud Network), and VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) architectures.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime, availability, and security.

  • Collaborate with IT security teams to enforce security policies and best practices across on-premises and cloud networks.

  • Manage and secure cloud network firewalls and security groups to protect critical cloud resources.

  • Implement and manage network security tools such as intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and next-generation firewalls (NGFW).

  • Evaluate and recommend network hardware, cloud security solutions, and software upgrades to enhance security and performance.

  • Conduct regular network security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to mitigate risks.

  • Perform risk analysis, implement network segmentation, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.

  • Develop and maintain secure network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and incident response procedures.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers and IT staff in both network engineering and security practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, network security technologies, and best practices in both cloud and enterprise networking.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of network projects, migrations to the cloud, and other strategic IT and security initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on network security and cloud networking.

  • Proficiency in routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and network security principles.

  • Experience with firewall and VPN technologies (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and cloud security tools.

  • Strong knowledge of network security technologies, including IDS/IPS, NGFW, VPN encryption, and Zero Trust architectures.

  • Experience with VCN/VPC design and management in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, including cloud-based firewall and security services.

  • Strong knowledge of both cloud and traditional network monitoring and security tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Splunk, CrowdStrike).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CISSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on security incident response.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
