Were in the process of opening up a second site for Strive Academy in central Manchester and as such, were looking to invest in team to help us with our expansion. Were now looking for construction tutors at both our Stayleybridge and Manchester sites, to join our growing team.

What's the role?

As a Tutor youll ensure that you create a safe and inspiring learning environment, that allows the pupils to fulfil their potential. Delivering challenging and engaging construction lessons, aligned to the curriculum that meet the needs of the pupils and the DfE.

What will I be doing?

  • Working with the subject leads and Teachers ensure that overall teaching approach is well aligned to the curriculum learning objectives and the needs the pupils.
  • Deliver the curriculum via high-quality lessons and delivery. Plan and teach well-structured lessons, adapting materials to pupils as needed, ensuring that the opportunity in each learning session is maximised.
  • Accurately track and monitor pupils progress, to ensure that high-quality records are kept and that relevant feedback can be given about the pupil to key stakeholders such as parents and schools.
  • Work alongside teachers to assist in the assessment of pupils work and provide an accurate view of attainment. Providing feedback for future development and attainment to challenge pupils and maximise results.
  • Work with the curriculum lead and support workers to provide pupils with the support they need to feel safe and thrive in the environment. Supporting and advising on safeguarding, behavioural management and any adaptations needed for individual pupils.
  • Work as part of the subject team, to deliver the best possible outcomes for pupils.

What are you looking for?

To be successful in this role, you might have previous experience in the construction industry and be looking to make a step into tutoring or education.

Or you may already have experience of being a tutor and feel you can turn your hand to the subject. Whatever your background, well help you with the skills, knowledge and support you need to thrive at Strive Academy.

Salary is dependent on current qualifications and experience and we'll discuss this with you before inviting you for an interview.
