SBCS has partnered with one of our favorite non-profits to locate a dedicated Outreach Manager.

Organization Overview

BeHeard operates a mobile drop-in center that provides essential services to those in need. These include showers through a shower trailer, laundry through a laundry trailer, clothing through a clothing trailer, haircuts from a barbershop bus, a job program, resources, and more.

Our mission is to use soul work and social work to benefit the community, businesses and those experiencing homelessness. Our ultimate goal is to help end homelessnessone person and one shower at a time.

Position Summary

The Outreach Manager plays a vital leadership role in managing and expanding BeHeard Movement's outreach efforts. This position oversees volunteer coordination, the jobs program, and three outreach assistants. The Outreach Manager ensures seamless scheduling, strategic planning, and collaboration with local stakeholders to maximize the organizations impact. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a deep commitment to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Supervise, support, and develop a team of three outreach assistants.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure staff alignment with organizational goals.

Volunteer Coordination:

• Oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers to support outreach initiatives.
• Maintain strong relationships with volunteers to foster engagement and retention.

Jobs Program Management:

• Manage the organizations jobs program, creating opportunities for clients to gain skills and employment.
• Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to develop partnerships and placement opportunities.

Scheduling & Planning:

• Develop and maintain outreach schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation for services such as mobile showers and laundry.
• Coordinate logistics for events, outreach initiatives, and program implementation.

Community Engagement:

• Attend monthly city meetings to represent the organization, build partnerships, and advocate for the homeless community.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local government, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders.

Operational Duties:

• Drive the company truck, trailers, and other company vehicles to transport supplies and support outreach efforts as needed.
• Ensure the vehicles and trailers are maintained and operational for safe and reliable use.

Data Management:

• Utilize BeHeards CRM to ensure accurate, real-time data entry for grant reporting and impact tracking.
• Monitor and analyze outreach data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Train and support staff and volunteers on CRM use and data collection procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• 1+ years of experience in outreach, volunteer coordination, or program management, ideally in a nonprofit setting.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups.
• Proficiency in using technology for scheduling, reporting, and communication.

Requirements:

• Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Passion for serving the homeless community and alignment with BeHeard Movements mission and values.
