Our client is seeking a Managing Director for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health. The Managing Director will ensure that the SNF-GC achieves its goals effectively and will represent the Center to the global community and its stakeholders, fostering growth and expanding impact in the field of child and adolescent mental health worldwide. This individual will provide strategic advice and support follow-up and initial implementation on opportunities to expand and sustain Global Programs building from the foundational support from SNF in this Center.

This role requires a strong leader with exceptional operational skills and a deep understanding of the global mental health landscape. The Managing Director will help evaluate, strategic goals, and enhance the Center's presence among stakeholders and donors.

Reporting to the Vice President (VP) of Global Programs, this is an exempt, full-time, hybrid (minimum 4 days in office) position located in their NYC headquarters office.

Established through a generous 5-year, $55 million grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) in November 2022, the SNF-GC is a unique, exciting, multifaceted program that requires creativity, imagination, and energy to build novel opportunities, technologies, and services, with the possibility of a vast impact on and transforming child and adolescent mental health.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Operational Leadership: You will provide leadership across all component programs of the SNF-GC, ensuring efficient and effective tracking, achievement, and reporting of goals, with the VP of Global Programs. This includes collaborating with Program Directors to identify and chart initiative- and project-based operational and administrative needs. It also includes accountability to the Chief Research Officer on Clinical and Research Innovations initiative and the Fellowships (Research) that are primarily conducted by the Research Department.
  • Operational Resource and Policy Collaboration: You will work closely with their operational departments (Human Resources, Legal Department, Finance Department, Marketing and Communications Department, IT Department, etc.) to ensure resource allocation and compliance with organizational policies. You will also collaborate with VP of Global Programs and the Operations Leadership on the evolution of international needs, planning, processes, and implementation.
  • Team Management: You will oversee the daily operations of the Coordinating Center, encouraging an inclusive culture and ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement occurs across SNF-GC teams. Additionally, you will manage direct reports, setting performance plans and milestones and providing feedback and professional development support.
  • Project Planning: You will oversee Program Director management and evolution of project timelines, implementation plans, and achievement of goals; lead preparation of internal documents, reports, dashboards and SNF leadership and external partners on progress and planning. This includes the maintenance and engagement of the SNF-GC Program Officer(s) and International Advisory Council.
  • Financial Oversight: You will lead budget development, and forecasting processes for the SNF-GC, with input from Program Directors and Finance inconsideration of the terms and conditions of the SNF grant language.
  • Partner Engagement: You will establish and maintain relationships with global partners, including government agencies, NGOs, community partners, funding entities, and academic institutions, to facilitate the Center implementation and future growth. This may include representation of the SNF-GC to domestic and international donors to promote awareness and secure additional funding opportunities to support sustainability and expansion of global programming.
  • Process Improvement: You will monitor and improve operating and administrative procedures, implementing risk mitigation strategies to meet SNF Global Center (leading role) and Global Program (in collaboration with VP of Global Programs) goals and milestones. Implementation may occur in collaboration with their Operational Leads.
  • Communication Facilitation: You will communicate and share information within the SNF-GC and CAMHI, across their departments, and to external partners, which may include drafting and approving communications plans, assorted materials (related to meetings, reporting, campaigns, including presentations), and may occur in collaboration with Program Directors and their Marketing and Communications.
  • Travel: Travel to establish, maintain, and support global collaborations and partnerships will occur domestically (2-6 times per year) and internationally (4-6 times per year).
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Master's degree in psychology/psychiatry, public health, global health, or a related field is required.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of senior-level operations or project management experience, with at least 4 years' experience in global mental health programs or international biomedical/public health programs, to include experience embedded in-country, is required.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing a team of 10 people or more Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing, matrixed teams in complex, multifaceted projects is required. Supervisory experience with performance assessment and professional development of direct reports is strongly preferred.
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Experience managing a budget of at least $5 million

The anticipated salary range for this position is $184,992-$231,240 annually.

In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
