Main Areas Of Responsibility
Engineering Design Expertise:
- Landfill Design: Strong competencies in designing landfills and solid waste facilities.
- Compliance and Documentation: Experience with compliance and preparation of construction documentation.
Project Management:
- Project Oversight: Ability to manage projects, delegate tasks, and oversee the completion of responsibilities.
- Mentorship: Experience in mentoring team members and providing technical guidance.
Technical Skills:
- Engineering Modeling and Design: Proficiency in site layout grading, drainage, site utilities, and designing systems such as force mains, leachate collection, landfill gas collection, stormwater management, and erosion control.
- AutoCAD: Experience with AutoCAD for designing projects.
Permitting and Compliance:
- Solid Waste Engineering Design and Permitting: Knowledge of design and permitting processes for landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Technical Reports: Ability to prepare technical reports including operating plans, CQA reports, and permit applications.
- Construction Observation: Experience in documenting and observing construction activities.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Monitoring: Skills in collecting air and water monitoring samples.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze technical data and implement logical and creative solutions to design issues.
Communication Skills:
- Effective Communication: Clear communication with colleagues, superiors, and clients.
- Report Writing: Strong report writing skills to convey technical information effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Geological or Environmental Engineering required
- 5+ years of professional experience in civil or environmental engineering, preferably with a focus on solid waste projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D preferred
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- EIT/P.E. license preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and reporting
- Experience in Rational, SCS hydrological analysis or other storm water analysis preferred
- Experience with State and Municipal projects a plus
- Travel will be required
- Valid Driver's license required
