Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our operating room team. This role involves working closely with surgeons to ensure the safe delivery of care during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative experience and demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise in the operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care in a perioperative setting.
- Collaborate with the surgical team and serve as a first assistant to the surgeon.
- Apply knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques and demonstrate proficiency in emergency situations.
- Lead patient-centered care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Guide and teach ancillary personnel while ensuring adherence to nursing standards.
- Fulfill call rotation and occasional weekend or evening shifts as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience:
- at least 2 years in perioperative nursing required.
- 1 year of med/surg nursing preferred.
- Certifications:
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) required.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
- Must hold an active RN license in Massachusetts.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
- RNFA certification required within 2 years of hire.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-stress and emergency situations.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
