We are specialising in the life and industrial science industries that manufactures and distributes laboratory, biomedical and quality testing products, equipment and solutions. Their offices are scattered across the ASEAN region and are expanding, with their headquarters in Singapore and subsidiaries in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Our company provides innovative solutions that meet the needs of their clients by delivering via two separate departments, General Laboratory and Molecular & Clinical Research. They have been helping numerous clients in many different industries such as government/private hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical devices industry, F&B manufacturing, commercial testing centres, environment and public health centres, service laboratories, as well as learning institutes and research-intensive universities.

The Operations & Supply Chain Manager leads process improvements and ensures operational efficiency to meet company goals. Key responsibilities include managing teams across shipping, customer care, and procurement, while aligning with other departments. The role involves tracking KPIs, optimizing resources, managing budgets, and establishing supplier relationships to maintain a seamless supply chain. Additionally, this manager oversees demand forecasting and supply allocation in coordination with sales teams. Ideal candidates have team management experience, proficiency in MS Office, and, preferably, experience in distribution and Navision systems.


Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Develop and implement operational improvements, and processes to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operations staff (including shipping, customer care, procurement) providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance and HR to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities.
  • Develop, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve operational targets, minimize costs, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Oversee overall operational processes, ensuring timely execution, compliance with regulations, and adherence to best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage budgets, allocate resources, and track expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to support seamless supply chain management.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to contribute operational insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and implement measures to mitigate operational risks.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc projects/ tasks assigned by the Managing Director

Demand Management:

  • Utilize historical data, market trends and inputs from sales and marketing teams to ensure regional offices develop accurate and timely bottom-up demand forecast for products.
  • Analyze demand patterns and identify factors that may impact demand fluctuations.
  • Formulate and develop a set of statistical forecast methodology to address the demand plan.
  • Collaborate with Sales Support executives and Sales Managers to consolidate forecast and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Shape forecast for the key sales channel and coordinate with Supply Planning to define individual safety stock level.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams in stocks planning and replenishment and allocations to distributor markets in our regional offices.
  • Monitor the supply status and coordinate with Sales team for supply allocation decision during constrained situation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance or equivalent field.At least 8 years of related experience in a Managerial position and have experience leading a team.
  • Good proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience working in a similar distribution business/industry will be advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Navision will be preferred.
  • Team management experience is required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint (V-Lookup, Pivot Table).
  • Resourcefulness, Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, good time-management skills, great interpersonal and communication skills.
