About the Role
The safety officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons, employees, contractors, and property within the shopping mall premises. This role involves developing, implementing, and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and hazards.
Responsibilities
- Safety Protocol Development
- Develop and maintain comprehensive safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the unique requirements of a shopping mall environment
- Compliance Assurance
- Ensure compliance with Thailand safety regulations, codes, and standards relevant to shopping mall operations
- Risk Assessment
- Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections of the shopping mall premises to identify potential hazards and risks to safety and security.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, for various scenarios such as fire outbreaks, natural disasters, and medical emergencies.
- Training and Education
- Provide safety training and education programs for shopping mall operation staff to raise awareness and promote a safety culture throughout the organization.
- Incident Investigation
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses within the shopping mall premises, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Contractor Management
- Ensure that vendors and contractors working within the shopping mall comply with safety regulations and adhere to safety standards while performing their duties.
- Safety Communication
- Facilitate effective communication regarding safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to all stakeholders, including tenants, employees, and visitors.
- Safety Equipment and Systems
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and testing of safety equipment and systems within the shopping mall, such as fire suppression systems, emergency lighting, and security cameras.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance activities, and prepare regular reports for management review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Health or Bachelor's Degree with Professional Safety and Health Certificate
- Understand the Thailand safety regulations codes, and standards relevant to facility management/operation
- MS Office and experience in writing reports for health and safety
- Good communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Risk management and Potential Hazard identification
Auditing and Incident investigation skills
