We are a group of companies, or a one-stop shop, specialising in the life and industrial science industries that manufactures and distributes laboratory, biomedical and quality testing products, equipment and solutions. Their offices are scattered across the ASEAN region and are expanding, with their headquarters in Singapore and subsidiaries in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

We provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of their clients by delivering via two separate departments, General Laboratory and Molecular & Clinical Research. We have been helping numerous clients in many different industries such as government/private hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical devices industry, F&B manufacturing, commercial testing centres, environment and public health centres, service laboratories, as well as learning institutes and research-intensive universities.

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing covering the full spectrum of financial reporting and analysis for our business entities. You are required to partner closely with other functional teams in providing strong financial technical support to business leaders in achieving business goals. You will also work with various stakeholders to continuously improve processes and systems and undertake any ad-hoc projects as required by the leadership team.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Lead the consolidation of financial data from multiple entities

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies

Budget Management:

  • Monitor and control regional budgets, providing insights into variances and recommending corrective actions
  • Work closely with department heads to align budgetary goals with operational needs

Risk Management:

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities within the region, proposing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets

Collaboration / Business Partnering:

  • Partner with other departments, including sales, operations, and supply chain, human resources to align financial goals with overall business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and guidance to support decision-making at the local entity level

Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Implement and enforce financial policies and procedures to maintain high standards of financial integrity

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a collaborative and result-oriented work environment within the team managing their performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • Proven team manager/supervisor experience in a senior finance role within the Trading/Distribution & Manufacturing is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial analysis
  • Proficiency in ERP systems i.e. Navision/Business Central with previous ERP implementation project experience is a plus
  • A good command of spoken and written English is required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in MS Office suite especially MS Excel (Pivot, V-Lookup, Indexing) and PowerPoint
  • Well organised, meticulous, analytical and can work independently
