We are looking for a Category Manager (Meat) to manage and oversee the entire meat category. The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction for the meat category. They will need to have a deep understanding of the meat industry and be able to keep up with the latest trends and market conditions. In addition, the ideal candidate must work closely with suppliers to ensure that they are delivering high-quality products at the best possible prices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, plan, and develop a product strategy that comes together with the product pipeline

  • Work with the team to get the product pipeline

  • Analyze sales figures, customers' reactions/needs, and market trends to anticipate product needs

  • Analyze and manage products in the portfolio to drive sales from the right customer segment (upselling and cross-selling)

  • Work with the marketing and sales team to promote/sell a strategic product

  • Work with the supply team to monitor, plan and develop a commercial strategy for inventory stock

  • Analyze, plan, and develop price strategy to achieve competitive price

  • Strategically review and revise the price and related factors weekly

  • Benchmark price and come up with a competitive landscape analysis

  • Work with the customer-facing team to get customer feedback about the price

Accountability

  • GMV and margin per strategic SKUs

  • Margin rate

  • Dead stock value

  • Competitive price

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working experience in category management

  • Upselling and cross-selling skills

  • Good commercial sense with business acumen

  • Competency in product pipeline and strategy implementation

  • Good analytical skills

  • Good knowledge of market trends (food/ food supply)

  • Strong experience and knowledge in unit sold, GMVs, and margin per strategic SKUs

  • Solid knowledge and experience in dead stock value and competitive price
