About the Role

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the company's comprehensive strategic plan. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CSO will work closely with the executive team to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, optimize business operations, and position the agency for sustainable growth. The CSO will serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors, providing critical insights and recommendations to drive the organization forward.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the company's long-term strategic plan, including the identification of new service offerings, target markets, and growth initiatives
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to inform the agency's strategic direction
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align functional strategies and initiatives with the overall corporate strategy
  • Assess the agency's capabilities, resources, and competitive advantages to inform strategic decision-making
  • Oversee the evaluation and implementation of strategic initiatives, including potential acquisitions, partnerships, and new business models
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Monitor the execution of the strategic plan and make adjustments as needed
  • Communicate the strategic vision and priorities to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure the organization has the necessary talent, processes, and systems to support the strategic plan
  • Identify and champion new growth areas and innovative service offerings

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior-level strategy and business development experience in the marketing/advertising industry
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful long-term strategic plans for marketing agencies or similar professional services firms
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex business challenges
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen to identify and capitalize on new opportunities
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficient in data analysis and using metrics to inform strategic decision-making
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams and projects
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative startup environment
