Position Overview:
As the HSE Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the company's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. You will work closely with management and employees to promote a safe and healthy work culture and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and international best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide training and support to employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential hazards.
- Monitor and maintain records of safety data, including incident reports, safety training, and safety equipment inspections.
- Liaise with government agencies, clients, and contractors on HSE matters.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in HSE standards and regulations and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare and submit HSE reports to management as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards, such as OSHA and ISO.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing HSE programs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE software.
- Valid HSE certifications, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, are highly desirable.
