About the job Knowledge Lawyer — Tax | Global Law Firm | HKG

WHO

Our client is a leading international law firm with a long-established presence across Asia-Pacific, advising multinational and regional clients on some of their most significant cross-border matters. It is now looking for a Knowledge Lawyer to support its Tax Practice Group across the region. Based in the firm's Hong Kong office and working closely with the APAC practice group leader and the practice business manager, you will sit at the heart of how the tax practice shares expertise, develops its people and delivers value to clients.

WHAT

You will manage, execute and coordinate legal content projects, training initiatives and knowledge programmes in line with the firm's knowledge strategy. That means drafting, developing and maintaining tax precedents and other legal content, including automation where appropriate; tracking legal, regulatory and market developments and keeping the practice informed; and coordinating input across jurisdictions on multi-country tax topics so that cross-border positions stay consistent. You will build practical tools for the practice, from checklists and comparison tables to playbooks, ensure the group's know-how is captured to a high standard in the firm's global knowledge repository, and lead on identifying and filling gaps. There is a strong training dimension, and a client-facing one too: alongside BD managers and lawyers, you will help produce client alerts, thought leadership and regional client conference content. The firm is investing heavily in AI and legal technology, and you will be expected to champion its adoption in how knowledge is developed and shared.

YOU

You are a qualified lawyer with a law degree and a current practising certificate, or eligibility to obtain one, together with strong technical expertise in tax law — cross-border or APAC exposure is a definite plus. You will bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort operating in a multicultural, multi-jurisdictional environment, and a track record of engaging senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives. Strong organisation and time management are essential, as is advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with knowledge management systems, document automation or AI tools is welcome; a keen interest in developing that expertise is just as good.
