About the job White Collar Crime Associate | 5-8 Years PQE | Int'l Law Firm | HKG

WHO

As an experienced investigations lawyer, you will be joining the Hong Kong office of a leading international law firm whose white collar defence and investigations practice is consistently ranked among the very best in Asia. The team advises multinationals and financial institutions on their most sensitive regulatory and reputational matters, working closely with a highly regarded regional practice head and colleagues across Asia-Pacific. The culture is genuinely collegiate: lawyers are trusted to take ownership of matters early, and the practice invests heavily in developing its people.

WHAT

Your work will centre on complex, cross-border investigations and enforcement defence. Expect a steady diet of internal investigations for major corporates, anti-bribery and corruption advice (including under the US FCPA), regulatory enforcement and white collar crime matters before agencies such as the SFC and ICAC, sanctions and export controls issues, and counsel on compliance programme design and remediation. Much of the work carries a strong life sciences and technology flavour, and you will support multi-jurisdictional investigations alongside teams across the region and beyond. You will run matters day to day, conduct interviews, draft advice and investigation reports, and work directly with partners who are leaders in this field.

YOU

You will be a lawyer with between 5-8 years' post-qualification experience, with genuinely strong white collar crime and internal investigations credentials. Admission in Hong Kong, another common law jurisdiction or the United States is welcomed, and you must be able to read and write Chinese as well as English. Candidates with an enforcement or investigations background at a regulator such as the SFC will be seriously considered. Above all, you will be known for sound judgement, first-class drafting and a practical, commercial approach to problem-solving.
