Disputes Associate - Employment & Commercial Litigation | NQ-3 PQE | HKG

A leading independent Hong Kong law firm with a strong reputation in dispute resolution is seeking a Disputes Associate to join its employment and commercial disputes practice. The team advises employers, senior executives, high-net-worth individuals, financial institutions and multinational corporations on significant and strategically sensitive matters. You will work closely with well-known practitioners, with early responsibility, direct partner contact and genuine advocacy opportunities. The role reports to the co-heads of the employment practice.

WHAT

You will handle a broad mix of contentious employment and general commercial matters. On the employment side, this includes executive departures, workplace investigations, restrictive covenant disputes, discrimination and harassment claims, and bonus and incentive disputes, together with employment advisory work supporting corporate transactions. Alongside this, you will assist on commercial litigation and arbitration, including fraud and asset tracing and regulatory and financial crime investigations. Day-to-day you will draft pleadings and advices, manage discovery and document review, prepare witnesses, attend hearings and settlement negotiations, and take client exposure from an early stage.

YOU

You will be a Hong Kong-qualified solicitor between newly qualified and three years' post-qualification experience, with a disputes background. Contentious employment experience is an advantage, but strong candidates from general commercial litigation will also be considered. You will be hard-working and detail-oriented, with excellent written and spoken English and strong Cantonese language skills, and a genuine interest in developing a contentious employment specialism alongside commercial disputes work.
