Legal Counsel (Trademark & Listed-Company Compliance Support) | 2+ Years PQE | HKG

WHO

A leading listed media company is seeking a junior-level legal counsel to support its trademark portfolio and listed-company compliance function. The role offers a unique blend of IP management and corporate governance work within a prominent listed entity. The legal team works closely with business units and external counsel, providing a broad and varied remit.

WHAT

You will manage trademark matters including applications, renewals, recordals, oppositions, enforcement support and portfolio administration in Hong Kong and overseas jurisdictions. You will liaise with external trademark agents and lawyers on filing strategy, deadlines, renewals, disputes and brand protection matters. You will support copyright, IP licensing, brand collaboration and routine commercial contract matters, and assist with Listing Rules, listed-company compliance, corporate governance and related legal research or documentation. You will also support internal approvals, contract administration and regulatory submissions as required.

YOU

You must be a qualified lawyer with at between 1-3 years' post-qualification experience. Experience or knowledge in trademark prosecution, trademark portfolio management, brand protection, copyright, IP or commercial legal matters is preferred. More experienced, exceptional brand protection legal executives or legal managers could be considered. 

Additional exposure to Hong Kong Listing Rules, corporate governance, listed-company compliance or corporate transactions would be a distinct bonus. 

Good academic background, careful drafting and research skills are required, with a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency or competency in Mandarin would be an advantage/preferred. Knowledge or experience in using AI tools for legal research, drafting, document comparison or contract review would be an advantage.
