THE ROLE:

Our client, a prestigious international law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Employment Associate with 4-7 years PQE to join its dynamic Hong Kong team. The successful candidate will focus primarily on contentious employment matters, advising major corporate clients on complex disputes, regulatory investigations, and litigation.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Hong Kong-qualified lawyer with strong contentious employment experience gained at a leading law firm. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling high-stakes employment disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, whistleblowing, and restrictive covenant cases.

WHAT

  • Advise multinational corporations and financial institutions on contentious employment matters, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
  • Handle a broad range of employment disputes, such as breach of contract, discrimination claims, and workplace misconduct allegations.
  • Provide strategic risk management and compliance advice on employment-related issues.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and settlement agreements.
  • Work closely with partners and senior associates on complex cross-border employment matters.
  • Engage in business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the practice.

YOU

  • Hong Kong-qualified lawyer with 4-7 years PQE in employment law, preferably with a focus on contentious employment matters.
  • Prior experience at a reputable international law firm is highly desirable or at least a well recognised and reputable domestic Hong Kong law firm. 
  • Strong academic background from a leading law school/university.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employment disputes and advise sophisticated clients.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Business-minded with the ability to build client relationships.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous.
