ABOUT

An elite global law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Capital Markets Associate with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience to join its busy Hong Kong team. This is a fixed-term contract role focused on a mix of equity (ECM) and debt (DCM) capital markets transactions, offering the opportunity to work on high-value, cross-border deals in one of Asias most active financial hubs.

The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload, including IPOs, secondary offerings, high-yield bonds, and other structured finance products, working alongside leading investment banks, corporate clients, and regulatory bodies. This role is ideal for a lawyer looking to gain further exposure to complex, high-profile transactions within a top-tier international practice.

WHAT

  • Advising on a broad range of ECM and DCM matters, including public and private offerings, liability management exercises, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drafting and reviewing transaction documentation such as prospectuses, offering circulars, underwriting agreements, and listing applications.
  • Liaising with clients, investment banks, and regulatory authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on capital markets structures and execution strategies.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in other offices on multi-jurisdictional transactions.

YOU

  • Hong Kong qualified solicitor (or equivalent qualification in a recognised jurisdiction with strong Hong Kong capital markets experience).
  • 2-4 years of PQE in capital markets, with demonstrable experience in both ECM and DCM transactions. Exceptional 1 year PQE corporate lawyers would be considered.
  • Excellent technical drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex legal and commercial issues.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken, is essential for client and regulatory engagement.
  • Strong academic background and training from a reputable law firm.
  • Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
