Financial Controller FC OR Finance Manager | Law Firm | HKG

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller or Finance Manager to join a dynamic, award-winning, and growing independent law firm in Hong Kong. With a strong commitment to exceptional client service and operational excellence, the firm is expanding its finance team to support its strategic growth and ensure robust financial management.

In this role, you will lead the finance and accounting function, managing a junior accountant, overseeing daily operations such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. You will prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, manage budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS), tax regulations, and legal industry requirements. Additionally, you will lead annual audits, implement internal controls, and optimize financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency. You will also collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies, analyze profitability, and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, more for the financial controller candidate, preferably within a law firm or professional services firm, and hold a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA/ACCA/CMA certification is a plus). In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong tax laws, HKFRS, and Solicitors Accounts Rules is essential, along with proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills. Fluency in English is required, whilst Chinese language skills are advantageous.
