Our client, a top tier elite global law firm, is looking for an experienced and dynamic Employment Counsel to join their Hong Kong office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of employment law matters, from contentious disputes to non-contentious projects, for a diverse and prestigious client base.
As an Employment Counsel, you will:
- Cover all areas of employment law, with a particular focus on contentious employment, discrimination and data privacy disputes
- Act for large corporate clients that include financial institutions, listed companies, travel and leisure companires, and organisations in education, infrastructure, and media, among other industries on a broad range of high-profile employment cases
- Represent corporate clients in regulatory inquiries and internal investigations on matters ranging from white collar crimes, high profile scandals to workplace bullying
- Handle a broad range of highly sensitive discrimination and harassment court cases and complaints
- Deal with privacy complaints, compliance checks by the Privacy Commissioner, as well as data privacy appeals made to the Administrative Appeals Board
- Advise on all non-contentious aspects of employment, discrimination and data privacy
- Work closely with other practice groups within the firm to provide comprehensive and integrated legal solutions
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- To be qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong with at least 9 years of post qualified experience in employment law
- be serving as either a Senior Associate or Of Counsel in your current role with all or the majority of your experiences in Hong Kong and regional related employment matters
- To have excellent communication, advocacy and drafting skills
- To have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and have a proactive and client-oriented approach
Alternatives:
- Having Higher Rights of Audience granted by the Higher Rights Assessment Board whilst not essential, would be a distinct advantage
- Common law qualfied lawyers with extensive employment experience in Hong Kong could also be considered
