Job Openings Commercial Litigation Associate | NQ - 5 Years' PQE | Law Firm | HKG

About the job Commercial Litigation Associate | NQ - 5 Years' PQE | Law Firm | HKG

Our client is one of Hong Kong's most pre-eminent and largest law firms, advising on the full spectrum of legal issues arising on the most complex deals and disputes and transactional work from Hong Kong and Mainland China. The firm fosters a diverse, supportive and inclusive work environment, investing heavily in the development of its people so that both individual and firm benefit from that growth. An opening has arisen for a junior-mid level general commercial litigation and arbitration lawyer to join this firm.

The successful candidate will join the general commercial litigation team, working closely with colleagues across a broad range of commercial disputes including complex and high-stakes commercial litigation, property litigation (not construction), international arbitration, tech-related and financial services regulatory investigations. Day-to-day work includes supporting the team on commercial disputes and regulatory advisory matters, conducting legal research and analysis on Hong Kong and cross-border disputes, and drafting pleadings, regulatory responses and client correspondence. More junior associates will liaise with clients, counsel and professional advisers under appropriate supervision, while more experienced associates will work independently, take the lead on urgent and complex matters, and report directly to clients with minimal supervision.

Candidates should be newly Hong Kong-qualified and be anywhere between NQ to having 5 years' post-qualification experience in general litigation and dispute resolution, ideally with prior experience at an international law firm or top tier domestic firm. A solid foundation in general commercial dispute resolution is required, along with excellent written and spoken English and Cantonese / traditional Chinese. Fluency in Mandarin would be a bonus. Additional experiences gained in arbitration and financial services disputes are highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, excellent client management and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure as part of a close-knit team.
