About the job Senior Accounts Officer | Major Law Firm | HKG

WHO

Our client is a large and one of the longest-established law firms in Hong Kong, with a strong regional footprint that extends across mainland China. It is seeking a Senior Accounts Officer to support the firm's financial operations across rate management, month-end closing, annual audit and tax filing, and client and practice reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will join the finance team, working closely with colleagues and support teams across the firm's regional offices. The firm prides itself on a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, and it invests heavily in the learning and development of its people.

WHAT

You will provide local support for rates, managing and maintaining client arrangements, summarising the financial impact of existing arrangements and recommending revisions as they come up for renewal, and coordinating the annual rate-setting and post-qualification-experience increase processes across the firm. You will also be involved in month-end closing activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries and schedules, coordinating with regional offices and support teams on closing and management reporting, and preparing monthly financial reports, analyses and reconciliations, including bank and intercompany reconciliations. The role further encompasses assisting with the annual audit and tax filing, producing client and practice-specific reports and analysis, and contributing to finance-related projects.

YOU

The successful candidate will hold a degree in finance, accounting or business and be pursuing or holding a professional certification such as ACCA or CPA; prior experience in auditing is a must. 6-8 years' experience is sought, ideally gained within a partnership environment, preferably a law firm, and candidates with less experience may be considered at Accounts Officer level. Familiarity with professional services pricing or fee negotiation is an advantage, as are strong Excel skills, and experience with legal accounting software commonly used by law firms will stand you in good stead. You will bring strong project management ability, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the analytical skills to turn data into meaningful insight for partners and firm management, together with excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese).
