The role involves working on projects associated with wet infrastructure, i.e. wastewater, stormwater, potable water and recycled water systems, water and wastewater treatment systems, and flood management and water resources management studies.
This will involve undertaking field visits, investigations, data collection, planning, hydraulic modeling, master planning, design development, report writing, preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and BOQs.
Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
1. Prepare concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for wet infrastructure
Review, organize, and analyze collected data
Develop design briefs and Basis of Design technical notes
Carry out hydraulic modeling using recognized modeling software
Perform design calculations
Develop design reports
Develop and oversee design drawings
Develop specifications and bill of quantities
Develop cost estimates
2. Collaboration and working as part of a team
Work in conjunction with peer engineers to overcome project design challenges
Liaise with other discipline teams and/or teams working remotely from other regions to facilitate completion of project tasks
Liaise with sub-consultants and sub-contractors to facilitate completion of project tasks
3. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
Complete all work in line with Stantecs Core Values and in accordance with the Stantecs Quality Systems, Project Quality procedures, and Health & Safety procedures.

4. Client Services and Stakeholders Management
Organize and attend meetings with clients to collect data and discuss technical solutions and options
Attend meetings with stakeholders and follow up on NOCs for utility corridors
5. Other duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized university
- Must have 10+ years of experience in master planning and design of large-scale wet infrastructure
- Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGems, SewerGems, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWorks WS, etc.
- Professional accreditation (Chartership/PE or equivalent) from internationally recognised engineering institutions such as ICE, CIWEM, Engineer Australia, etc., or working towards it.
