About the job Planning Engineer
The Planning engineer must have relevant degree from recognized university and must have civil engineering background with a knowledge and work experience of not less than 10 years in design and construction programing/planning of similar projects. The Planning Engineer in association with the resident engineer shall develop the Project execution plan considering the proper engineering techniques and milestone sequences for the Project. He will set targets for activities based on each activity of a Project and ensure it meets DMs specifications and requirements. Planning engineers shall make estimations for timescales and costs using specialized design software packages (Primavera).
The major Planning Engineer role is monitoring day-to-day work progress for the Project and provide accurate weekly and monthly reports by swiftly communicating potential progress delays or project slippages. Tracking and analyzing field results is another key responsibility. Planning engineer continually makes comparisons between planned progress and actual progress and reports any differences to their lead project manager.
He also studies the impact of alternative approaches.
