About the job Resident Engineer (Drainage, Road, Water Recycle & Infrastructure)
The Resident Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the progress of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders. This role will require extensive on-site presence and coordination with various stakeholders during the entire construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Delivery
Supervise and coordinate all aspects of construction activities on-site, including material delivery, contractor schedules, labor resources, and equipment usage.
Reviewed the design proposals, work program, material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, payments, variation orders and claims, etc.
Effectively manage the site supervision staff during construction & ensuring the works are being conducted according to the Contract specifications.
Ensure all contractors, subcontractors and workers adhere to project schedules, quality, and safety standards.
Work closely with designers and architects to ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.
Regularly review progress and status reports and advise on adjustments and changes to meet project requirements.
Provide updates to the client and project team on the projects status, costs, and progress and request for approvals or change orders, as necessary.
Collaborate with project contractors to recommend innovative solutions that will improve the quality of the project as well as save the project cost.
Prepare and submit periodic project reports summarizing progress, schedules, and goals to the management team.
Collaborate with other Resident engineers in other projects in coordinating schedules, resources and finding solutions.
Ensure monitoring of the quality of materials and workmanship installed, operated, and maintained.
Maintain the Resident Engineers daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates. Liaise with Client, Project Management and Contractor for resolution of project issues, in addition to concerned Authorities when required.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
Familiarity with conditions of contract, and quality assurance.
Liaise with clients, co-ordination with Governmental Organization and other Consultants/Contractors
Consistently adheres to and enforces internal Company processes and policies such as business and contracting rules.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
Works in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
Collaboration and working as part of a team.
Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.
Liaison with teams Client, Contractor, supervision team, Engineering, to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.
Good communicator.
Client Service Management
Internal and external client DM Infrastructure liaison
Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
Experience in utility diversions and management.
Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
Other duties as requested from time to time by the Construction manager.
Qualifications :- The successful candidate will have Batchlor Degree in Civil engineering with 20 Years of experience in Drainage, Pumping station, Road, Water Recycle and Infra project.
- Candidate must have PMP certifications and proficient in PRIMAVERA and MS OFFICE.
- Candidate must have previous experience in dealing with Construction manager, CS site team, Client, Contractor and Suppliers.
- Experience with DM Infra & Water recycle Project is an Advantage.
