Lead MEP Engineer
About the job Lead MEP Engineer
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage all MEP engineering activities across the programme, providing technical leadership throughout design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and handover phases.
- Manage and mentor the senior Electrical and Mechanical engineering leads, ensuring alignment of technical standards, delivery priorities, and project objectives.
- Oversee all MEP design and site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, UAE authority requirements, international standards, and project procedures.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination between MEP, ICT, and specialist systems teams to ensure seamless integration across the project.
- Oversee the delivery of major MEP and utility systems including power distribution, substations, HVAC, firefighting, ELV/ICT, ITS, water supply, drainage, sewerage, stormwater, and street lighting networks.
- Review and approve technical submissions including design reports, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and testing & commissioning procedures.
- Lead technical coordination meetings, constructability reviews, and stakeholder workshops with the Client, contractors, consultants, authorities, and utility providers.
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC and HSE requirements through regular inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across all MEP activities.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover processes to ensure systems achieve operational and performance requirements.
- Review and verify IRs, NCRs, commissioning records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and project close-out documentation.
- Promote best practices, innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence across all MEP engineering and construction activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10-12 years of MEP experience in mega mixed-use projects.
- Fluent in English
