About the job Resident Engineer (Civil Defense)
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Management of a team of multi discipline architects, engineers, inspectors and specialists.
- Attendance or representation as appropriate at all project related construction meetings.
- Monitoring and reporting on the contractors activities on site with respect to technical and contractual compliance.
- Supervise the adherence to the project Health and Safety Plan and instructing appropriate action with regard to Health and safety issues.
- Ensuring maintenance and compliance of Stantec procedures.
- Report on the performance of the contractors with regard to the quality of work and compliance with the project performance indicator.
- Review and approval of shop drawings, materials and equipment, mockups and samples, brochures, and other engineering submissions.
- Review and approval of as-built drawings, guarantees, warranties, maintenance manuals, spare parts and close-out reports.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, and emergencies at the construction site.
- Coordinate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and Stantec design teams to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Respond to Request for Information and queries raised by contractors.
- Administer Change orders.
- As appropriate, visit the sites of the extraction and fabrication of material/equipment for performance & workmanship before delivery to the site.
- Assist the Client in settling disputes between the client and contractors.
Qualifications:
- 12-15 years of experience, including 5 years in UAE working in an international consultant environment.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines: Civil / Structural.
- Strong engineering and technical background. (FIDIC contracts)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solution (Excel, Word)
