Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

At Stalwart Themius, we're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior DBA to join our client's expanding Engineering team as an AWS Database Administrator (DBA).

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

•   Utilizing your AWS cloud computing expertise to meet the needs of clients using cloud-native tools.
• Managing large-scale MySQL databases and sharding concepts.
• Configuring MySQL replication and writing/optimizing SQL statements.
• Developing solutions using innovative AWS database technologies.
• Conducting research on differing approaches to data storage in AWS.
• Migrating legacy on-premises databases into AWS data stores.
• Indexing, replicating, and performing disaster recovery services across multiple AWS regions.
• Monitoring system performance metrics to identify potential risks/issues.

To qualify for this position, you should have:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a MySQL Database Administrator.
• Experience in Linux Systems Administration.
• Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience working with Open Source and Linux development.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS and Aurora.
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to travel as needed.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
