POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all electromechanical systems of the plant in accordance with codes, regulations and specifications, ensuring minimum down time of the plant operations, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Occasional sitting, below waist level work, balancing, carrying, reaching, fine motor skills, forceful motion, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical Degree in related field, journeymans card, or five plus years related experience as an industrial maintenance technician (electrical/mechanical).
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents such as wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, instructions, safety rules, codebooks, and specifications.
- Broad knowledge of electrical codes and regulations, electronic controls and devices and electrical/electronic theory.
- Ability to communicate one on one effectively with employees with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting technical skills.
- Experience operating electrical and mechanical testing equipment.
- Ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and welding / torch equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Allen Bradley PLC/Drive commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
- Siemens PLC/Drive commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
- AC/DC Motor Maintenance experience.
- HVAC certification or maintenance experience.
- Advanced hydraulic/pneumatic commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Modify and adjust complex process equipment and instruments.
- Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electromechanical equipment.
- Effectively troubleshoot complex problems associated with electromechanical machinery.
- Align and fit assemblies ensuring proper alignment and function.
- Perform inspections daily to determine startup problems.
- Verify part dimensions conform to provided specifications.
- Repair and calibrate pneumatic assemblies to meet job specifications.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot simple to complex hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose issues with sophisticated control systems and employ tactics to resolve them effectively.
- Fabricate replacements for unavailable parts until it can be procured from the vendor.
- Maintain parts and equipment inventory by properly checking parts in and out of the CMMS.
- Assist in the execution and improvement of the electromechanical technician training program.
- Ensure all control systems of the production lines are operating according to procedures and minimize production down time.
- Service all non-essential plant electrical or mechanical systems as needed, ensuring non-interference with essential production systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot facility HVAC systems.
- Update wiring on obsolete systems, equipment, machines, and other apparatus. Wire new systems, equipment, machines, and other apparatus.
- Ensure all electromechanical systems, equipment, machines, and other apparatus are safe for operation.
- Act as a technical resource to other plant personnel to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
- Participate on cross functional teams to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs.
- Execute rolling mill setups with the highest levels of quality and productivity.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation in the CMMS.
- Utilize lean principles and tools to troubleshoot, countermeasure, and improve processes and equipment.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.

Pay Range:
Maintenance Mechanic:
$23.25 - $34.75/hr
Maintenance Electrician:
$25.75 - $38.75/hr
