About the job General Manager
Job Summary:
As the Operations /General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our company by managing and optimizing field operations. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including sales, fleet management, repair shop, vendors, and clients, to ensure the efficient delivery of our services and maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction. This position reports directly to the President of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Operations Management:
- Supervise and lead field team foreman (5 to 6 direct reports) and all field crewmembers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and quality to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency.
Collaboration with Sales:
- Work closely with the sales team to understand project requirements and client expectations.
- Provide input on project feasibility, timelines, and resource allocation.
Fleet Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of company vehicles and equipment.
- Collaborate with fleet management personnel to ensure optimal equipment readiness.
Repair Shop Coordination:
- Manage the repair and maintenance of equipment through the company's repair shop.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Vendor Relations:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements to optimize procurement.
Client Communication:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance regarding industry and government (OSHA) regulations
- Conduct and coordinate regular safety training for field teams.
- Ensure proper job and employee documentation including material tracking, daily reports timesheets and truck logs are maintained and kept up to date
Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to control expenses.
Qualifications:
7-10 years of direct industry experience, along with 4+ years of management and leadership. Must have "big project" commercial experience (HOA/DOT, etc.)
Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards/best practices
Ability to communicate effectively and work with senior management to achieve the necessary goals set for specific projects. Ability to supervise, train, inspire, and LEAD a team!
Ability to view plans and proposals, visualize the job, and see the opportunities.
Proven performer with bottom-line responsibility
Experience managing projects involving incentives/disincentives with strict deadlines.
Knowledge of fleet management and equipment maintenance
Compensation range:
$115k - $125k
- Will consider up to 10k+ range if the candidate checks off all boxes and qualifications
- All-in compensation is around $150k which includes a bonus structure based on the annual revenue of projects managed.
