Accounts Receivable Coordinator / Cash Applications Specialist

Position Summary
The Cash Application Specialist is an entry level position in the Accounting Department. The Specialist needs to have a positive working relationship within the Accounts Receivable Department. It is the responsibility of the position to apply and deposit check volumes between 150-350 checks in addition to ACH payments on a daily basis. Detailed attention must be paid to transactions occurring each day to determine the authenticity and proper recording.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage daily application of high-volume checks, credit card and ACH payments to appropriate customer account and subsequent deposit into bank account.
• File, save, update and/or document remittance and check copies as appropriate.
• Process credit card payments as needed.
• Manage voicemails left to the Accounts Receivable Department.
• Communicate effectively within the organization as well as externally to resolve payment issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Intermediate MS Office knowledge (especially Excel and Outlook).
• Exposure to business management software is useful.
• 1 year experience in Accounts Receivable or Data Entry.
• Skilled at 10-Key.
• Experience with high volume email.
• High Attention to Detail.
• Strong Math Skills (numbers-oriented individual).
• The ability to multitask, prioritize and work efficiently. Work through different scenarios to manage volume and accurate posting.
• Positive attitude. Good customer service skills. The ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), and follow up effectively with other employees and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Intermediate MS Office knowledge (especially Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookups).
• 2 years experience in Accounts Receivable or Data Entry.
