Over the years, F&P has grown into a multi-office practice serving clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, with a focus on delivering practical legal solutions backed by experienced attorneys and a collaborative team environment.
Position Overview:
The Administrative Assistant provides legal administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including document formatting, file management, calendar updates, phone coverage, electronic court filing, and general office support. The ideal candidate has strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and preferably law firm experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and formatting letters
- Scanning and saving documents the document management system in a proficient manner
- Familiarity with legal practice management systems (ideally PracticeMaster)
- Answering and directing attorneys' phone calls
- Keeping attorneys' calendars up to date
- Open and closing files
- Converting documents from pdf to MS Word format
- Formatting Discovery
- Electronic court filing
- Receiving and sending mail
- Receptionist coverage as per the rotating schedule
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum Work Experience: 3+ years administrative experience (law firm experience preferred)
- Experienced/skilled in computer systems in a Windows/Microsoft based environment
- Transcribing
- Ability to learn new software systems easily
- Demonstrated ability to articulate clearly and effectively
- Superior listening, oral and written skills
- Service oriented and has a sense of urgency and responsiveness.
