The goal of the Psychiatrist is to ensure all clinical programs are safe and appropriate to the clients specific diagnosis, needs, and medical history. The Psychiatrist will direct and coordinate medical services and care with other areas of the organization while making reasonable accommodations to ensure clients are safe and comfortable as possible during their stay.
Requirements
In order to be considered for the Psychiatrist position, you will need:
- Board Certified MD/DO in PA
- SUD/ASAM experience
- Mental Health Experience
- Outpatient Experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand the patient's history, substance use patterns, co-occurring mental health disorders, and any other relevant factors contributing to their addiction.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the individual's needs, which may include pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe and monitor medications used.
- Provide individual or group therapy sessions to address psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, and primary care physicians.
- Offer education and counseling to patients and their families about addiction, its effects, treatment options, and strategies for recovery.
- Regularly monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide ongoing support to promote long-term recovery.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in addiction medicine through attending conferences, participating in professional development activities, and contributing to research studies in the field.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing the practice of addiction medicine, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and documentation standards.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or relapse crises.
Pay: $200-$350/hr
Schedule: PT; 5-7 hours per week
