Requirements
- Active and unrestricted MD or DO license
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Practice, OR Emergency Medicine strongly preferred
- Experience in long-term care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing strongly preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory visits and documentation timelines
- Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (PAs/NPs) under state collaboration guidelines
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with interdisciplinary teams and surveyors
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person evaluations (H&Ps, 30-day/60-day regulatory visits)
- Attend and contribute to monthly QA/QAPI meetings
- Provide leadership on quality improvement measures: falls, wounds, psychotropic use, and re-hospitalizations
- Offer clinical oversight for infection control, catheter protocols, and antibiotic stewardship
- Supervise and perform chart reviews/quality meetings with APPs under state-specific requirements
- Ensure timely documentation (within 2448 hours for notes, orders, and key forms such as death certificates and therapy orders)
- Remain accessible during business hours for facility leadership and staff
- Support the facility during state surveys with expert medical input
- Maintain 100% compliance with regulatory and operational responsibilities to retain Medical Director stipend
Pay: $280-450K per year
