Overview

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a pivotal leadership role within our substance abuse detox and residential facility, responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The ADON will lead a team of nursing professionals, manage nursing operations, and provide direct patient care. This position requires a strong background in nursing administration and a commitment to upholding client rights and quality care.

Duties

  • Direct and oversee all nursing team within the facility, supporting patient care as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for residents.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Educate staff on medical terminology, resident rights, and best practices in nursing care.
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing practices, physiology knowledge, and healthcare systems.

Skills

  • Strong background in nursing administration with experience in managing nursing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with medical records management and medical terminology relevant to acute care settings.
  • Experience working in a substance abuse detox/residential or similar healthcare environment is preferred.
