Please note this is a 1099 Independent Contractor position without benefits or a set schedule. The ideal candidate for us would be someone who is available to pick up group facilitation sessions on a case-by-case basis.
Group Facilitator Requirements:
- Masters level education in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field is required.
- Experience in facilitating therapeutic groups is required, as training for this independent contractor role is not available.
- Ability to create a safe and inclusive support group environment, including a strong interpersonal communication skillset.
- Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the State of Maine listed below is required for this position.
- Additional training or certifications is preferred, but not required: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), etc.
Group Facilitator Licensing Requirements:
A conditional license at minimum is required in one of these disciplines in the State of Maine (preferably fully licensed):
- LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
- LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
Group Facilitator Responsibilities:
- Facilitate therapeutic groups for individuals undergoing outpatient and partial hospitalization mental health programs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Develop and implement group activities and discussions aligned with treatment goals.
- Foster a sense of community and collaboration among group members.
- Monitor and address individual needs and challenges within the group setting.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals during group sessions.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure the integration of group therapy into individual treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of group sessions and participant progress.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation standards.
Pay: This is a 1099 independent contractor role that is compensated per group facilitated (these are 1 hour and 15 minute sessions, plus time needed for documentation). Fully licensed professionals are paid $125/session, while conditionally licensed professionals are paid $100/session.
Schedule: This is a per diem position with no set hours, as it will be providing additional coverage for our team on a case-by-case basis (i.e. call-outs, vacations, leaves of absence, etc).
Location: On-Site at our Portland, Maine office location. Some virtual sessions may be offered, but this professional must reside within a commutable distance to support groups in our facility.
