Position Purpose:

The 12-Step Coordinator is responsible for creating and delivering a uniform 12 Step process to clients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION-

Graduation from High School or GED.

Must have two years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if recovering from a substance use disorder and participate in a self-help program.

2. Experience-

At least one-year experience in a 12-Step role preferred.

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION-

CRSS certification and above (preferred or willing/able to obtain)

Current CPR

4. KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE-

  • General knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
  • General knowledge of 12-Step Recovery Program.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • General knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes:

Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.
Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including: Confidentiality, Patient Rights, Professional Code of Ethics, Discrimination.
Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions.
Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION-

1. Deliver 12-Step Process consistent with Plymouth House model as determined by 12-Step Director

2. Ensure consistency in delivery of Plymouth House 12 Step Process by Plymouth House Staff through periodic trainings and direct supervision

3. Follow timeline and schedule of 12 Step Process for clients at all levels of care

4. Create individual interventions for clients to maximize effectiveness of 12 Step Process

5. Develop or approve exercises for individual steps outside of Big Book instructions

6. Identify deficiencies in programming that may impede 12 Step Process and communicate with 12-Step Director, Clinical Supervisors, & Clinical Director & other Coordinators to resolve

7. Create a series of lectures & groups for Plymouth House clients to have meaningful exposure to Plymouth House's 12 Step Process. Curriculum to cover all Steps and will span 8 specific groups over an 8-week cycle.

8. Enforce accountability measures for Plymouth House clients to ensure clients are actively engaged in step work

9. Provide direct client care at all Plymouth House programs

10. Create and implement quality assurance measures for clients actively writing 4th step inventory

11. Participate in required staff training (minimum 20 hours).

12. Participates in all staff meets as scheduled.

13. Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with GRNH, LLC's privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with GRNH LLC's policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

14. May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other GRNH, LLC operations.

15. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC's policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.

16. Performs other duties assigned.


Pay- $40k- $50k

Schedule- FT (M-F) 9a-6p
