Substance Abuse Counselor Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Valid state clinical licensure
- Experience in substance abuse counseling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Substance Abuse Counselor Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the needs of individuals seeking substance abuse treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide counseling services to individuals and facilitate group therapy sessions.
- Address the unique needs and challenges associated with substance abuse recovery.
- Offer education and preventive services to individuals and groups to promote substance abuse awareness and prevention.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation standards.
- Work collaboratively with other counselors, healthcare professionals, and support staff to deliver comprehensive care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
Pay: $50-70,000
