Join Us

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor to join our inpatient detox facility in Maryland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, facilitating their recovery journey, and supporting them through the detoxification process.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Must be licensed or certified in the state of Maryland as an LCPC, LCADC, LGADC, LCSW-C, or similar.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance use counseling, preferably in an inpatient or detox setting.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, excellent communication and counseling skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments to determine clients' substance use history, mental health status, and overall readiness for detoxification and treatment.
  • Provide evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions tailored to clients needs, focusing on addiction education, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans that address clients' specific recovery goals and monitor their progress.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers, to provide holistic care and ensure a coordinated treatment approach.
  • Offer immediate support during crises, including emotional support, de-escalation, and connection to emergency services if needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, progress notes, treatment plans, and other necessary documentation in accordance with facility and state regulations.
  • Educate clients and their families about the nature of addiction, the detoxification process, and ongoing treatment options, while advocating for clients needs.
  • Assist clients in developing a comprehensive aftercare plan, including referrals to outpatient services, support groups, and community resources to support long-term recovery.

Job Type: Full Time and Part Time

Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
