Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a passion for addiction medicine and mental health. The FNP will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive medical care, medication management, and patient education for individuals in residential, outpatient, and detox programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical evaluations for patients entering treatment, including physical exams and history-taking.
- Provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and psychiatric medication management as needed.
- Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on substance use disorders, harm reduction, and relapse prevention.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
- Document all patient interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in the state of Texas (Required)
- DEA X-waiver (or willingness to obtain) for prescribing buprenorphine for opioid use disorder
- Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or primary care (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of MAT, co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
