Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong accounting foundation and experience in the construction industry. The role requires a strategic, flexible mindset and executive presence. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to results and proactive leadership, exceeding job duties and fostering high standards within the team. This role could turn into an Assistant Controller position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee subcontract compliance, including change orders, COIs, and OCIPs.
  • Manage lien waiver initiation and acquisition, ensuring orderly subcontractor/supplier engagement.
  • Handle monthly project invoice processing, support AR invoicing, and manage purchase order receipts.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the construction sector, with a preference for operational/scheduling acumen.
  • Ensure adherence to certified payroll practices and union regulations.
  • Facilitate payroll processing and contribute to HR activities, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Conduct thorough monthly financial analyses, including reviews of inter-company transactions and cost reporting.
  • Operate autonomously and provide robust financial oversight support to the CFOs.

Qualifications:

  • MUST currently live in Phoenix, Arizona
  • At least four (4) years of accounting experience, with exposure to the crane, heavy transport, or rigging sectors valued.
  • Mastery of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Exemplary professionalism with exceptional interpersonal capabilities.
  • Collaborative ethos with a commitment to ethical and positive workplace dynamics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Versatility in supporting cross-functional teams within sales, dispatch, operations, and project management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains, NEXGEN Fleet Cost & Care, and Smartsheets would be a huge plus.
