Overview:
STAFFING FISH is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will prepare and review journal entries, meticulously conduct account and balance sheet reconciliations, conduct in-depth margin analysis, and deliver precise financial reports.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze Departmental Expense Reports and Profit & Loss statements for upper management.
- Summarize and prepare financial status reports, including profit and loss statements and other necessary reports.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare monthly and annual inventory reconciliations.
- Analyze complex inventory data to identify patterns and recommend process improvements.
- Perform general ledger, margin, expense analysis, and account reconciliations.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis on assigned accounts to understand reasons for changes and ensure accuracy.
- Generate commission reports for various departments.
- Complete monthly and yearly closing tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts such as Pre-Paid Expenses, Equipment NBV, Fixed Assets, Right-of-Use asset amortization, and various accruals.
- Participate in year-end financial statement audit preparations and fieldwork.
- Assist with the month-end close of the general ledger and work with outside audit firms during the annual audit and other external reviews.
- Research expense variance analysis questions for financial reporting and management inquiries.
- Lead ad-hoc and special projects, supporting other departments as needed.
- Implement and maintain cost accounting systems, tracking production costs and analyzing cost variances.
- Provide cost reports and financial analysis to support pricing and production decisions.
- Monitor and report on the financial impact of mining and manufacturing activities, including production costs, capital expenditures, and project profitability.
- Collaborate with operations teams to align financial strategies with operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- At least five (5) years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- At least two (2) years of recent inventory accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA is a Plus but not required.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with multi-state sales tax is a BIG PLUS, but not required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial and transaction reports to management.
