Summary:
The Director of Information Systems and Business Intelligence will lead our strategic direction, development, and implementation of our IT and business intelligence systems. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in ensuring data accuracy, security, and actionable insights across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in IT management, data analytics, and cybersecurity, with a strong track record of driving business intelligence initiatives and managing cross-functional teams. This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive individual capable of operating in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential job functions/duties
- Directs information systems team (including business analytics and information technology) to provide insight and aid in business decision-making.
- Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information with proactivity to ensure the digital safety of all enterprises supported.
- Develops business intelligence gathering practices, the management of data and information, and its systems.
- Develops business-continuity protocols to minimize the disruption to business operations in the event of an emergency or data loss.
- Ensures the protection of business intelligence through the most up-to-date cybersecurity and risk management practices.
- Leads and develops the implementation of IT and analytics processes for the various organizations the teams serve.
- Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports that perform meaningful quantitative and qualitative analyses to address business issues or questions.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives, including producing effective dashboards, reports, and quantifiable metrics.
- Hires and trains IT and Analytics staff, assigns projects as needed, and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations both internally and externally.
- Develops and implements standard operation procedures (SOPs) and policies to ensure security compliance organization wide.
- Develops and implements standard operation procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate reporting and data gathering for operational purposes.
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics/needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards for the IT and business analytics departments and provides recommendations for improving infrastructure.
- Successfully plans yearly budget for the department and ensures that equipment needs and repairs are proactively planned for.
- Coordinates multi-site IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Highly skilled in Microsoft applications and at least ten (10) years of experience working with Power BI and business intelligence/analytics roles.
- At least eight (8) years working in information systems management in combination with business intelligence experience.
- Knowledgeable in network infrastructure, disaster recovery, data warehousing, and strategic planning.
- Proven capability to work with various computer networks, databases, and system architecture.
- Strong knowledge and prior experience with data security and compliance regulations.
- Communicates effectively in a highly cross-functional and diverse organization.
- Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices with proven experience and capability to implement large organizations' processes and workflows.
- Ability to think analytically, problem-solve, and adapt to changes.
- Ability to make projections and forecasts based on organizational performance using accurate reporting tools and data-gathering practices
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Must possess great presentation skills and ability to speak in public.
- Thorough understanding of IT and analytics applications to support the company's goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of IT and Analytics team; direct reports include:
- IT Manager
- Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
Education, credentials, and/or training required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, business analytics, or related field.
- Master's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
- Industry certifications (A+, CompTIA A, CompTIA Security, CompTIA Linux, etc.) preferred.
