Senior Accountant

Essential job functions/duties

• Prepares financial reports and accounting statements.
• Posts journal entries to the general ledger.
• Generate summary sheets for use by the supervisor or auditor
• Processes payroll and prepares payroll reports.
• Verify accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
• Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures
• Foster an environment of trust and collaboration
• Performs other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Education and Background required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
• CMA candidate preferred
• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience as an Analyst, Auditor, or Accountant
• Thorough understanding of bookkeeping procedures and practices
• Ability to train others in related practices and procedures regarding bookkeeping.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions thoroughly.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong analytics skills
