Construction Manager
About the job Construction Manager
Responsibilities:
- To understand all project schedule and requirements in order to perform overall planning, installation scheduling, co-ordination, management and overseeing the project and site activities to meet time and quality targets
- Coordinate activities of site personnel to ensure project progresses based on the project requirements
- Attend external and internal meetings
- Chair all Site Management meetings and manage capture and issuance of meeting minutes
- Attend scheduled meetings with clients and work closely with PM and Project Controls on the project construction schedule
- Manage and update the project progress with quantity surveying and status to PM and Project Controls timely & frequently
- Plan and manage off-site and on-site installation activities
- Lead site supervisor and coordinators, safety officer and coordinator, supervisor and site engineers regarding site works standards so that installation activities are done correctly and minimize rectification works
- Manage overall resources – manpower, skills, spare parts and tools. Any additional resources / manpower required at site must be escalated to PM
- Liaise with the clients, consultants and sub-contractors to ensure smooth site implementation and construction of the project
- Verify the certification of progress claims that are submitted by the sub-contractors
- Identify problems at project sites and provide technical support and recommendations to resolve the problems
- Strictly ensure zero failures in achieving the targeted schedules committed by company.
- Update the management if encountered problems as early as possible
- Coach, mentor and develop site personnel, including providing direction to the employees in accordance to project’s objectives and targets and provide employees performance feedback
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among team members and being supportive and working effectively together
- Any other job as assigned by PM
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or construction management
- 10-15 years of construction project management experience
- Must have constructed an industrial incineration/exhaust/water/wastewater treatment plant or waste recycling plant project in excess of $10 million as the construction manager
- Construction management experience in high temperature process equipment desirable
- Waste to Energy project experience desirable
- OPSOC/AWSHPP required
- PMP certification considered an asset
- CSCPM considered an asset
- Knowledge in MS Project advantageous
