Job Summary
Were seeking a detail-oriented Agronomic Support Engineer to provide technical expertise and frontline support to our Dealer network using a proprietary internal trial design and analysis tool. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend agronomic knowledge with software support, helping shape future product functionality based on real-world user feedback.
This is an excellent role for someone with a strong agronomy background, comfort with GIS tools, and a passion for problem-solving through technology.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first line of support for Dealers using an agronomic analysis and trial design software platform
- Answer technical questions related to production systems, crop management practices, and platform functionality
- Assist in identifying software issues, gathering user feedback, and recommending enhancements
- Collaborate with the development team to test and validate new tool features and updates
- Execute structured test cases to ensure new software releases meet acceptance criteria
- Document support trends and common issues to contribute to continuous improvement
- Support occasional in-person training and site visits with Dealers (approx. 5% travel)
Required Qualifications
- Solid background in Agronomy, with the ability to advise on agricultural production systems and best practices
- Proficiency with GIS software tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
- Previous experience supporting a software application answering user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and relaying feedback to development teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics clearly
- Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail in resolving technical problems
- Willingness to travel to Johnston, IA for onboarding and training during the first week of employment
- Must be located in the Central or Eastern time zones
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, or a closely related field is required
Nice to Have
- Experience in field trials or agronomic research
- Familiarity with trial design methodologies or precision ag tools
- Prior experience working with or supporting Dealer networks
This role offers flexible hours (starting between 7:00 - 9:00 AM CT) and can be performed remotely for candidates based in Central or Eastern time zones. You'll join a collaborative team dedicated to advancing agronomic software tools that make a real difference in the field.
