Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of cutting-edge commercial battery-electric mowers. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in mechanical design, 3D modeling, and hands-on assembly, who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and refining mechanical subsystems while working closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• Proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling and part design
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to physically assemble and/or repair equipment (including shop-based machine builds and future upgrades)

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience in casting design
• Background in plastics design

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical subsystems, including 3D modeling in Creo and creating detailed drawings for prototype shops or suppliers
• Conduct engineering calculations, virtual analysis, and decision-making assessments to refine product designs
• Collaborate daily with Product Design, Marketing, Program Management, Test Engineers, and Systems Engineers
• Apply user feedback and product insights to optimize the design for improved customer experience
• Provide hands-on support for machine builds and upgrades in the shop, coordinating with shop teams as needed
• May assist with field testing and customer feedback sessions when machines are deployed for evaluation
