Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic engineering and testing team. This hands-on role involves assembling, installing, and troubleshooting drivetrain components to support cutting-edge product development and performance testing. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, shop-floor environment and has a solid background in drivetrain systems and heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and troubleshoot drivetrain systems to support performance testing initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to support test systems involving engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulics, load brakes, and dynamometers.
- Operate primarily on the shop floor (approximately 85% of time) in a team-based environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and maintain a safety-first mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of drivetrain systems and components.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with heavy equipment vehicles or related mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to assemble and investigate drivetrain components.
- Excellent adaptability and prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with CAN communication codes related to diesel engines, aftertreatment, and drivetrain systems.
- Experience working with electrical control circuits in test or process equipment environments.
Education
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical systems.
Additional Information
- Business casual attire is required.
- Metatarsal footwear protection must be worn starting on day one.
- No travel is required for this role.
- Onsite presence is required from the first day.
- Interviews will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.
