Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, youll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing vehicles, off-road equipment, and production machinery. Working independently and as part of a team, youll utilize your technical expertise to ensure equipment reliability and safety in a dynamic work environment.
Essential Functions:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain diesel/gas engines, hydraulic motors, hydraulic pumps, transmissions, and other equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems using test equipment and hand tools to identify and resolve issues.
- Inspect equipment and components to detect hazards, defects, or necessary adjustments, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Advise management on potential hazards associated with continued equipment operation.
- Utilize tools such as multimeters, pipe benders, and other basic equipment for maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and workplace safety protocols.
- Complete tasks efficiently, accurately, and professionally within assigned deadlines.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Effective problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- High technical capacity for maintaining and repairing high-speed equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance standards.
Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, oils, grease, and moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme environmental conditions.
- Work environments may be loud, and personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods.
- Frequently required to lift and move items over 50 pounds.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Technical training with exposure to high-speed equipment.
- 2+ years of experience maintaining production machines.
- 2+ years of experience servicing on/off-road equipment and vehicles.
Preferred:
- Expertise in engine repair, hydraulic systems, or similar technical disciplines.
- Completion of auto repair vocational school.
Additional Requirements:
- Must provide own tools.
